A new scientific publication from VisMederi has recently been published in Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses.
The study, “Impact of ABO Blood System on Immunogenicity and Vaccine Efficacy of COVID-19 Booster Vaccination,” analyzed data from 3,066 participants to investigate whether blood type influences immune responses and protection following COVID-19 booster vaccination.
The findings show that booster vaccination elicited strong antibody responses across all blood groups, indicating that the ABO blood system has only a limited impact on vaccine-induced immunity and breakthrough infections.
The research was carried out through an international collaboration between VisMederi, the Medical University of Vienna, and other research partners, further advancing our understanding of the factors that influence the long-term effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.
