VisMederi and CEVAC, a Belgian vaccine research center comprising a Clinical Trial Unit and an Immunomonitoring Laboratory, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their collaboration in vaccine clinical trials, a core area of expertise for both organizations.

The agreement represents a concrete step toward a more integrated European collaboration model, fostering closer cooperation between clinical research, laboratory science, and operational excellence to accelerate vaccine development programs.

The partnership is founded on a shared commitment to advancing vaccine research and public health. By combining complementary expertise, infrastructure, and international networks, VisMederi and CEVAC aim to support vaccine developers with high-quality scientific and operational services, with particular attention to emerging infectious diseases and future pandemic preparedness.

Together, the two organizations will be able to provide a comprehensive solution across the vaccine clinical development pathway, from clinical site management and participant recruitment to sample processing, immunological and bioanalytical testing, data management, and scientific support throughout the entire clinical trial process.

For VisMederi, the partnership further expands its network of international collaborations and strengthens its ability to support vaccine developers through increasingly comprehensive and integrated solutions. In a rapidly evolving global health landscape, strategic partnerships are essential to advancing innovation and responding effectively to emerging public health challenges.

As Alessandro Manenti, Chief Development Officer at VisMederi, highlighted: “This agreement creates new opportunities to develop meaningful synergies between our organizations and expand the range of services we can offer to vaccine developers. By combining our respective expertise, we can contribute more effectively to the advancement of innovative vaccine programs and support global efforts to improve preparedness against emerging infectious diseases.”

About CEVAC

The Center for Vaccinology (CEVAC), headed by Prof. Dr. Isabel Leroux-Roels, integrates a Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) and an immunomonitoring laboratory. Over the past 30 years, the CTU has conducted more than 300 clinical vaccine studies, primarily Phase I, Phase I/II, and Phase II trials commissioned by major vaccine manufacturers. More recently, CEVAC has also contributed to Phase III studies, supported by strong recruitment capacities with up to 600 participants.

The CEVAC laboratory has extensive expertise sample processing as well as in assessing the magnitude and quality of vaccine-induced immune responses and in investigating the mechanisms of action of vaccines and adjuvants. Through long-standing collaborations with industrial and academic partners, CEVAC contributes to the advancement and harmonization of laboratory methodologies, with the shared goal of strengthening and accelerating the evaluation of vaccine efficacy and immunogenicity.
