Farmindustria will be in Siena on Thursday to meet and discuss Biotech and drugs

Biotechnology as a health resource and for economic growth in the nation will be the theme of the meeting promoted by Farmindustria, with the sponsorship of the University of Siena and the Toscana Life Sciences Foundation, scheduled for Thursday, 7 November in Siena at the University Science Complex at San Miniato.

The Rector of the University of Siena, Angelo Riccaboni, will welcome those present and will be followed by the talk given by Eugenio Aringhieri, President of the Biotechnologies Group of Farmindustria. During a round table discussion moderated by Francesco Selvi, director of RTV38, speakers of regional and national importance will talk about the latest possibilities for cures and opportunities for employment and economic development which the Biotech field offers. This event is an important occasion for comparing ideas in a world of research and development for health, which represents today a precious resource for competitiveness for Tuscany and the entire national socio-economic system.

Marco Iezzi, of the Department of Enterprise and Internationalization of the Ministry of Economic Development; Emanuele Montomoli, Professor of Hygiene and Preventive Medicine at the Unversity of Siena; Dario Neri, Professor of the Swiss Federal Polytechnical Institute in Zurich and co-Founder of Philogen; Pierfrancesco Pacini, President of Confindustria Toscana; Andrea Paolini, General Director of the Toscana Life Sciences Foundation; Massimo Scaccabarozzi, President of Farmindustria; Gianfranco Simoncini, Councilor of Productive Activities of the Region Tuscany and Gabriele Toccafondi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, University and Research will compare thoughts on the subject.
