On behalf of VisMederi, we are thrilled to share the exciting news about the grand opening of our new Biotech Research Facility in Colle Val d’Elsa. This momentous event, held on December 13th, marked a significant leap forward for our organization, reinforcing our commitment to advancing research and innovation in the life sciences sector.
A Celebration of Progress
The inauguration brought together distinguished guests, including esteemed representatives from local and regional governments, alongside leaders in the scientific community. Among the notable attendees were Elisa Mennitto, our Chief Facilities and Laboratories Officer, as well as Piero Pii, Mayor of Colle Val d’Elsa, Michele Capitani, Deputy Mayor of Siena, and other prominent officials who joined us in celebrating this milestone.
This strategic relocation to a cutting-edge facility underscores VisMederi’s dedication to growth and excellence. Our new 2,000 square meter site is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including newly installed CyTOF systems, advanced flow cytometers, and multi-parameter platforms such as Luminex and Mesoscale. This investment enables us to significantly expand our testing portfolio and weekly sample throughput, ensuring we continue to deliver the highest standards of service and support.
A New Era of Collaboration and Innovation
While we remain deeply grateful for the foundation built at the Toscana Life Sciences hub, the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the need to expand beyond its limits. Our new facility provides enhanced biosafety capabilities, including multiple BSL-2 and BSL-2+ laboratories, along with dedicated cell culture facilities. Over 100 of our team members will work from this site, further driving the innovative solutions that our clients rely on.
