VisMederi drives progress toward the 100 Days Mission through CEPI’s world-leading network

VisMederi emphasizes the importance of its role within Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI)’s Centralized Laboratory Network, the world’s largest network dedicated to standardising the assessment of epidemic and pandemic vaccine candidates. In the global research group, VisMederi works together with other laboratories in the network to use harmonized reagents and shared protocols to support the standardised assessment of vaccine candidates. It also serves as a reference laboratory providing key tools specifically to support the assessment of influenza (H5N8) and mpox vaccine candidates under development. This work contributes to global readiness efforts aimed at accelerating vaccine development for future epidemic and pandemic threats, including CEPI’s 100 Days Mission.

VisMederi’s collaboration with CEPI builds on the experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the organization was selected as one of the laboratories in CEPI’s centralized networkto support the standardised assessment and comparison of immune responses to COVID-19 vaccine candidates. That foundation has enabled continued contribution to CEPI’s enabling science approach, which strengthens the comparability and reproducibility of data through standardized assays, standards, and reagents.

Today, VisMederi’s activities within the network focus on areas with significant public health relevance. As a reference laboratory, VisMederi supports the generation of robust, comparable immunogenicity data across sites and studies. For H5N8 influenza, VisMederi’s assay portfolio includes serological methods commonly used for vaccine licensing, including HAI, SRH and microneutralization.                              For Mpox, VisMederi’s assay portfolio include neutralization assays against multiple strains.

This work reflects CEPI’s 100 Days Mission, which aims to accelerate the development of vaccines against future epidemic or pandemic threats in as little as 100 days. In the event of an infectious disease outbreak, reliable, standardized laboratory testing is a core enabler of that goal, helping vaccine developers move faster while maintaining confidence in the data used to guide development and regulatory decision-making.

Launched in 2020, CEPI’s Centralized Laboratory Network has expanded to support vaccine developers across multiple pathogens and geographies. VisMederi values being part of this international group of laboratories that helps validate vaccine candidates for industry partners around the world, particularly when rapid, comparable results are needed across different sites.
